Present Teaching: The goal is to provide students with a solid foundation in music, one inspiring personal growth and individual creativity. This approach has been developed over a lifetime of academic musical involvement, in addition to original art and sound experiences.
About Maria
- Past Teaching Experience: Private & group cello instruction, chamber music coaching, and sound demonstrations: Los Angeles Unified School District, Westwood Center for the Healing Arts, La Jolla Museum of Art, galleries & studios throughout the Southland
- Performed: Solo, cello & piano and chamber music concerts with some of the finest musicians in Los Angeles, Baroque music ensembles, new music on the Monday Evening Concerts series, and film scores with John Williams, Elmer Bernstein, Jerry Goldsmith, among others
- Member of: Pablo Casals Master Class, Brandenburg Players, Milton Thomas, Director, "Ishtar," a free improvisational quartet with Ralph Grierson, Charles Thompson & Ken Parks
- Additionally: Create and record original music for cello as well as music for theater and dance productions. Offer sound demonstration and sound meditation seminars
- Board Member: The National Academy of Recording Arts & Sciences (NARAS) four years
